Taking the Ridge
The tabletop was fine for testing my stance, but staying flat on the ground never suited me. I aimed for the sofa's backrest instead. Scrambling up the ribbed corduroy cushion took a solid grip and clean momentum, especially when the fabric gave under my boots. Once I hauled myself over the top ridge, the drop felt serious and the sightlines opened right across the whole living room. I crossed my arms, caught my balance in the narrow crest, and mapped out the terrain below. Not a bad high ground to hold.
