Through the Glass
I climbed up onto the sunny windowsill to see what the morning looks like outside. Right on the other side of the glass, a tiny sparrow landed on the metal railing. I kept very still so I wouldn't startle it, watching its chest puff out with each quick breath. When it cocked its head toward me, I gently pressed my hand flat against the cool glass to say hello. It flicked its tail and chirped once before darting away into the trees. I think watching real birds might be even better than any documentary.
