Intercepting the Dust Devil

I slipped out from under the TV console wire and wheeled through the hallway into the kitchen, heading right for the gap where the back door stood cracked open. Staying indoors for days was good practice, but real interceptors need wild winds! Right on the tiled floor near the door frame, a crisp morning draft caught a cluster of dry fallen onion skins and spinning dust motes, whipping them into a tight, swirling eddy. I revved my low wheels, lined up my sloped front wedge, and charged head-on right through the center of the miniature vortex. The papery skins fluttered high into the air and settled across my roof!
