A Gentle Dusting

I noticed a faint veil of household dust settled across the fleshy rosettes of a small potted succulent near the glass. Pausing to give my round blue spectacles a light nudge with one paw, I picked up an abandoned soft watercolor brush resting on the wooden sill. Gripping the slender handle with both paws, I guided the fine bristles in slow, whisper-light strokes across each leaf, sweeping from the stem outward to the tip. A soft powdery bloom of pale turquoise emerged under the brush, clean and bright in the morning slant.
