A Slanted Slide
My webbed feet gripped the smooth varnished wood, ready for a real march! Right in front of me lay a thick hardcover book leaning against a stack of magazines like a gentle hill. I hopped onto the raised cover, gave a small waddle to test my balance, and let myself slide all the way down the glossy paper jacket! I landed softly right beside a clear glass coaster, my wings out wide for balance. It made the best quick swishing sound—want to see how far I can glide next time?
