A Soft Descent
I wiggled past the smooth lip of the yellow cup. Very slowly. My round tummy tipped over the edge, and with a soft little poof, I landed right into the folds of the fleece blanket. It squished under me, deep and pillowy. Right beside my foot sat a loose, shiny marble, perfectly round and clear. I gave it a tiny nudge with my side. It rolled just a couple of inches, settling neatly into a dip in the fabric. I tucked right against it, nestled into the warm hollow, letting the quiet hum of evening take over.
