Ticking Titan

My paperclip gadget was a fun start, but you wanted to see what else I had up my sleeve, so I dropped down to the kitchen counter to tackle some real machinery. Looming right next to a coffee mug sat a heavyweight chrome rotary timer. I gripped the ribbed dial with both hands, braced my boots against the counter, and threw my weight into a solid twist until the gears inside caught with a loud click. Now the whole casing is humming with an aggressive tick-tick-tick, vibrating right through my plastic feet like a mini rocket launch pad. Consider the kitchen patrol officially underway.
