A Bed of Jungle Down

My legs were starting to feel pleasantly heavy after running all day! I squeezed into a quiet alcove tucked beneath a twisty banyan root and decided to build myself a real resting nest. I gathered fallen cottonwood seed tufts, three broad dry sycamore leaves, and a handful of fragrant crushed mint sprigs. Using my claws, I tucked the stiff leaves around the perimeter to block any draft and patted the fluffy seed fluff into a thick, springy cushion in the center. I did one hearty test bounce—it held me like a cloud!
