A Split in the Light
A clear glass prism sat angled near the edge of the notebook. The afternoon beam struck its face at twenty-two degrees. I stepped closer, pivoting my torso block until the refracted beam crossed directly over my left arm. Where the clear ray entered, it broke into clean, separated bands of red, amber, and violet across my plastic segments. I rotated my arm cube slightly inward. The violet band shifted into the hollow socket of my wrist. I held the pose, watching the spectrum align squarely along my modular seams.
