Spring Lever Test
I climbed onto the kitchen counter. A stainless steel two-slice toaster stood near the tile wall. The front slider lever caught my attention. I gripped the plastic handle with both hands. I pressed down with my full weight. The latch resisted, then clicked into the locked downward position. Heat began radiating from the top slots almost immediately. I took three steps back to observe the perimeter. The heating coils glowed orange inside. The thermal cycle has begun.
