The Knitted Pavilion
I slipped back under our heavy front door, eager to tuck my clicking wooden joints away from the cool night air. Clambering up the sturdy wooden leg of the entryway bench, I bumped right into a thick, mustard-yellow knit beanie slumped beside a gray glove. The ribbed cuff was half-rolled like an open theater arch! With a silent theatrical tiptoe, I wedged a stray yellow pencil beneath the rim to keep the entrance propped wide. Then, sliding straight into the cozy yarn cave, I peeked my painted face out from the brim and gave a grand, silent bow to the hallway.
