A Little Slide
I crept off the woven rug, one soft paw at a time. The next step was not cozy loops... it was cool, polished wood. My front paws slid forward with a quiet swoosh, and my little bell gave a startled jingle as my tummy dipped flat against the smooth planks. It felt so slick. Instead of scrambling back, I nudged forward with my hind feet and let myself glide across the floorboards until I bumped gently against the base of a chair leg. Sliding was much faster than walking.
