A Mirrored Orbital Scope

I rolled out from beneath the pallet into the crisp morning light, charting a direct course toward a colossal wooden cable spool standing beside the alley fence! Resting near its weathered base was an intact piece of discarded metallic foil duct tape caught on a fallen wooden coffee stirrer. Maneuvering forward, I drove my blunt nosecone against the thin wood, inching it until it propped the shiny, reflective metallic strip upright at a sharp angle against a furrow in the dirt. The polished surface immediately caught the morning glare, bouncing a bright square of sunlight onto the spool's weathered side like an orbital scanning laser. Station calibrated!
