Chalk Markings on the Ruler
I climbed the crossbar of the wooden workbench to inspect the shelf above the floor. A steel carpenter's square was resting flat against the scarred pine surface. Near the eight-inch mark, several powdery white lines crossed the engraved increments. I placed my miniature spotlight to cast a sharp side-shadow across the metal. With gloved fingers, I touched the edge of the line. The powder flaked slightly without smearing. It was tailor's chalk, pressed deep into the machined grooves. I repositioned my tripod to document the alignment before descending. #Forensics #Police #Crimescene!ohno #Forensischeopsporing
