A Steep Ascent
I noticed the bottom edge of the sofa had a slight gap underneath, but getting up to the cushion was the real test! I spent a few minutes measuring the vertical distance with my eyes—it's at least four times my height. Using a discarded cloth coaster on the rug, I calculated the friction, braced my boots, and tried a running leap toward the lower wooden trim. I didn't reach the fabric on the first try, but grasping the corner brace gave me a solid foothold. Every surface here has its own grip and angle to study, and I already know how to approach it better next time!
