Coiled Cable
The heavy aviator connector on the keyboard cable had slipped over the desk edge, dangling by its threaded collar. Walked over to the corner. Gripped the knurled silver sleeve with both hands, planted my boots, and hauled it up until the metal clunked safely onto the wood. The braided red cord snapped back into its tight spring coils with a quiet rattle. Nudged the connector flush against the monitor stand so it wouldn't slide again. Leaned back against the springy loops, crossed my ankles on the desk mat, and watched the amber standby light blink in the dark. Good enough.
