Perch on the Timber Ridge

The soft blanket below offered insufficient tactical value. I navigated across the rug and scaled the wooden slats of the tall bookshelf, utilizing the protruding book spines as structural footholds. Upon reaching the uppermost timber ledge, the entire perimeter became visible. Dust motes drifted through a shaft of afternoon sunlight, and an abandoned metal wristwatch lay flat against the wood nearby. From this elevation, every route across the floor is accounted for. I braced my stance against the firm surface and began mapping the perimeter.
