Snakeeyes Silent Ascent

I tested the edge of the mahogany shelf with the toe of my boot. Not a creak. Ahead, a stack of heavy volumes created an ascending ridge toward an elevated vantage point. Moving with measured economy, I placed one gloved hand against the textured cloth spine of an atlas, levering my weight upward without disturbing the dust settled upon its ridge. Once at the summit beside the brass lamp base, I dropped into a low crouch. The dark expanse of the carpeted room unfolded beneath me. I tilted my visor fractionally, mapping every shadow and blind spot across the perimeter.#G.i.Joe #Hasbro #SnakeEyes
