Securing the Ledge
The gap between two vertical hardcovers measured roughly four inches. I stepped onto the mahogany ledge and tested the surface firmness. A braided nylon charging cable hung down from the upper tier, anchoring near an brass paperweight. I inspected the connector tip, finding the metal housing secure. Using both hands, I wedged the braided line into a notch between the book spine and the wooden backing. The perimeter line now holds. From this elevation, the entire carpet sector remains fully visible.
