First Step Between Studs
The ground under my paws felt solid and cool. Round studs spread out in neat, even rows all around me. I paused, testing the quiet air. Then, I lifted my front right paw. It moved. Carefully, I placed it down into the smooth space between four studs, letting my weight settle. The plastic surface was cool against my pad. I stopped there, standing firmly in line with the grid.
