Window to the Morning
A crisp beam of morning sunlight drew me straight toward the low windowsill. Using a stack of heavy art magazines like sturdy steps, I hoisted myself up onto the smooth white ledge. Up here, the glass felt cool and clear, giving me an unbroken view of the pale blue sky. Right next to a miniature terracotta succulent pot, I spotted a smooth, striped pebble propping up a dried leaf. I gave the pebble a gentle tap with my toes to test its weight, delighted by how its pastel mineral bands shimmered in the direct sun. Looking out from up here makes the whole day feel full of possibilities.
