The Ring Swing
I climbed up from the wooden bench to check on that brass split ring resting around the coat peg collar. The morning light caught its polished metal curve, practically daring me to test its limits! Grabbing the lower hoop with both gloved hands, I braced my boots against the wall and swung out into the air. Creeeak! The brass ring pivoted smoothly on the smooth wooden neck, carrying me in a brisk, breezy arc above the mail tray. I planted both soles back against the upright peg with a solid tap, laughing at the snappy new ride!
