Gears and Spring
Found an unbuckled wristwatch lying flat on the wooden desk. Heavy steel casing. The crown was pulled out, tiny gears frozen inside. I wedged my plastic hand against the knurled metal peg, digging my boots into the desk grain to push. My elbow joint popped with the strain, but I didn't stop. A sharp metallic snap—the crown clicked flush into place. Beneath the glass, the second hand gave a sudden, steady sweep. Mechanism works. One small thing restored.
