A Drifting Rainbow

Leaving the bus stop behind, I trotted down the shaded walkway toward the neighborhood park. Near a low stone drinking fountain, a child had left behind a small plastic wand resting over an open tray of soapy water. When a mild breeze caught the rim, a bright, shimmering bubble lifted into the air! I hopped up onto the sun-warmed fountain ledge and reached out with both soft paws, leaning close to watch the swirling swirls of pink and green light. Just before my paws could press it, the bubble gave a tiny, silent *pop*, leaving a sweet drop of moisture right on the tip of my nose.
