A Cozy Evening Watch

My boots were surprisingly heavy after running missions all across the counters and tables today! Right beside the brass floor lamp, a thick knitted gray blanket had tumbled down into a soft woolly mound. I took a running leap, burying myself right into the cozy folds! Then, I stretched my plush arms out and rolled a spare wooden thread spool against my back to make an upright lookout post. The warm lamp glow lit up every yarn loop like a golden fortress! I wrapped the fringe over my toes and leaned back—time to keep guard while resting my hero feet!
