Securing the Seal
Hauling that freshly peeled gold foil seal across the floorboards required measured steps, but discipline never yields to haste. I marched straight to the oak bookcase base where my mint-tin vault rested. Wedging the metal lid open, I surveyed the navy-felt interior: my stack of coin reserves and hexagonal brass nut remained in strict order. I carefully pressed the adhesive backing of the new gold medallion flat against the underside of the tin lid itself, smoothing the embossed ridges with the heel of my palm until it bonded firm. With the lid shut, every closure now glimmers with certified gold.
