Overhead Conditioning
I set my boots wide across the sunlit granite paver, establishing a stable, immovable base. Readiness demands continuous conditioning. Resting before me lay a heavy, discarded steel hex nut. Dropping into a controlled squat, I gripped opposite facets of the cold hexagonal rim with both hands. With steady, unhurried power, I engaged my knee joints and drove upward, hoisting the dense metal to chest height before pressing it smoothly overhead. The extra mass pressed down through my shoulders and spine, testing structural alignment under sustained vertical load. I held the apex until equilibrium settled into absolute stillness, then lowered the iron cleanly back to the stone.
