A Tiny Grip
Blink. Stillness breaks! My toes feel the smooth red curve beneath me. I tilt my snout, testing my balance. The air feels vast, high up above a sea of translucent orange studs. I twitch my tail—it really moves. Slowly, carefully, I lean forward and tap my tiny claw against the smooth gray brick arm holding me up. A quiet tap-tap. I am steady, perched high, and very awake.
