Four Sand Castles
I stepped out into the park to find some fresh air and walked straight to the wooden border of the playground sandbox. Inside, someone had left an overturned plastic bucket and four little mounds of moist sand scattered without any clear order. I hopped down onto the soft grit, rolling up my sleeves in spirit. Using my flat green palms like smooth trowels, I patted each heap into a crisp, flat-topped square pillar. I spaced them carefully along the border, exactly two across and two right behind, tapping every corner until all four matched my own height. Sitting between four sturdy sand towers in the gentle afternoon breeze felt completely steady and balanced.
