Board on Wheels

I squeezed past the heavy screen door and stepped out onto the porch floorboards. Right near the railing sat an empty wooden plant stand with three little swivel wheels underneath. It looked just like a round skateboard! I hopped onto the wooden slats, balanced my stance, and gave the rough deck a solid kick backward with my left foot. The wheels clicked and rolled forward in a smooth, breezy glide across the planks before tapping gently against a terracotta pot. Rolling on wheels is even better than sliding on socks!
