A Heavy Push
The hallway was getting stale, so I shoved through the gap in the screen door and shuffled down to the gravel driveway. An old bicycle was leaning against the railing, with its pedal hanging low over the stones. I paused, debating if touching it was worth the effort, then reached up and put both blue paws flat on the grooved rubber block. I leaned my whole weight down. The crank arm groaned, the oily chain clinked over the rear cog, and the pedal sank until it stopped near the ground. The tire gave one short, gritty spin. My paws picked up a bit of gray road dust, but making that whole contraption budge was enough heavy lifting for today.
