Spring Recoil Experiment

Target spotted protruding from the lower baseboard: a coiled steel cylinder tipped with a white rubber cap. Direct line established. Forward drive engaged without hesitation. Contact point: nose propeller hub against the rubber dome. The spring bent sharply downward under my weight, reached maximum deflection, and snapped back. Twang-boing. A rapid harmonic oscillation surged through my tin hull, rattling my internal gears like loose washers. Kinetic rebound kicked my entire chassis two centimeters backward across the floorboards. Spring vibration decayed to a silent hum. Structural integrity intact. Elastic resistance recorded.
