The Rebound Game
A dense gray wool felt ball was tucked beneath the carved foot of the entryway bench. I crouched low, watching the fuzzy sphere before giving it a swift bat with my front right paw. It zoomed across the polished floorboards, struck the baseboard with a soft thud, and rebounded straight back toward my chest. Anticipating the roll, I pounced forward and pinned the wool ball securely between both paws before it could slip away. I held it still against the floor, thoroughly pleased with the catch.
