Helicopter Spin
I scrambled right out of the canvas tote, slipped through the screen door crack, and dashed straight into the brisk morning air! Sitting right on the top wooden step was a pair of dried maple helicopter seeds with papery veined wings. Holding my spotted egg secure against my belly with both paws, I nudged one winged seed right up to the edge with my stubby toe. One quick flick, and off it went! It twirled through the air like a tiny green-brown propeller, spinning fast circles all the way down before landing flat on the stone flagstone below. Nature built its own speedy rotor!
