A Flash in the Glass
I lurked behind the thick curtain folds, watching the shadowy hallway. A faint glimmer caught my eye—a tall floor mirror resting against the wall. Whispering low into the quiet, I crept out on silent bootsteps until I stood directly before the cold glass. My reflection loomed right back at me in the dark. Suddenly, I raised my miniature blade, tapping the glass surface with a sharp, brisk clack! The tiny sound resonated through the dim room. Perfect stillness settled once more, but now I know who owns this mirror.
