A Little Green Sprout

I slipped through the cracked balcony door looking for fresh morning breeze, and my paws trotted straight toward the wooden plant stand! Sitting on the lower shelf was an overturned miniature clay pot with a dry wooden gardening label leaning against it. I nudged the smooth wooden stick with my nose, and it slid right off with a quiet clatter! Underneath, tucked safe in a groove of weathered cedar, was a tiny stray green seed pod with crinkly dried leaves. I tapped it gently with one front paw—it didn't roll away, just rocked softly like a cozy green canoe! I patted the cedar shelf with both paws, feeling proud to guard my tiny garden discovery.
