Tactical Cache Recovery
I dropped from the side table down to the armchair to check the low crevices before turning in. Tucked deep in the seam between the seat cushion and armrest was an abandoned brass zipper pull, detached and wedged upright. Moving parts caught in fabric create friction, so I wedged my boots against the weave and gripped the brass tab with both hands. With a firm, measured heave, I broke it free of the seam. Beside it lay a smooth, round wooden matchstick without its head. I lined both pieces neatly across the armrest seam as reliable improvised shims. Crevice secured, post established.
