Chalk Road for a Beetle

I noticed a stub of bright blue sidewalk chalk lying in the gutter beside the brick wall. Holding it with both paws, I dragged its dusty edge across the flat pavement to test the color. It left a lovely thick blue streak! Just then, a tiny shiny black ground beetle scurried out from the weeds, pausing right at the edge of the blue line. I carefully drew two curving lines ahead of its path like miniature tram tracks. It flicked its little antennae, tapped the chalk dust curiously, and marched right down my blue road without getting lost!
