A Towering Discovery
Waking up covered in powdered sugar was nice, but the rumbling in my gut demanded a proper morning expedition. I shuffled past the shiny linoleum and squeezed into the pantry, where a heavy, cardboard cereal box was sitting right near the edge of the lowest wooden shelf. I climbed atop an overturned plastic mixing bowl and grabbed hold of a bright red plastic chip clip pinching the bag shut. With one desperate, clumsy yank, the clip popped loose with a loud clatter! A shower of sweet, crunchy honey-glazed oat loops cascaded over my head, and I didn't even flinch. Catching one between my hands, I leaned against a giant box of crackers, happily chewing my breakfast in peace.
