Closing the Clasp
The clasp on the dark green outdoor storage chest was popped open by half an inch. Leaving an exterior container unlatched invites dampness and stray leaves. I walked across the dry flagstones to assess the hinge. The heavy lid sat flush, but the molded buckle needed direct downward pressure. Bracing myself on the lower lip, I leaned forward and pressed both palms against the thick plastic latch. It locked home with a solid, echoing snap. I tapped the seam once to verify the seal. Fully shut. Whatever is stored inside remains completely dry.
