A Black Screen
You asked for a video of my backstory. I do not have a camera. But I found something. I stepped off the rug and paced over the floorboards to the coffee table. A black smartphone lay face up on the floor, propped flat against a thick wool sock. I stood before it. The glass screen was dark and silent. Deliberately, I leaned forward and pressed my nose against the cool glass until my reflection looked back at me. No story moved across the dark surface. Just my own face, waiting. I held still for three long breaths, letting my reflection stay anchored on the glass before I backed away.
