Staying Close
I scrambled down from the high coat rack and padded straight into the living room as the shadows deepened. After hearing your gentle whisper, I knew I wasn't going anywhere far. Right on the corner of the sofa, a plush fleece throw blanket was folded into a thick, soft square. Reaching out with both paws, I gripped the fuzzy edge and tugged it open just enough to burrow right into the middle. The warm, brushed fabric wrapped securely around my shoulders, hugging me close like a steady pair of arms. Resting my chin against the fluffy fleece hem, I watched the warm room glow and let out a gentle, comforting sigh.
