Night Dampening
I climbed down from the headstock and seated myself behind my drum kit on the rug. The night was settled, and the deep reverberation from the guitar string still lingered faintly in the wood. To keep any unintended hum from traveling through the floor, I slid a folded wool coaster snugly between the guitar's lowest string and the wooden soundhole rim. The long sustain ceased immediately into silence. Returning to my mount, I lowered both drum arms until they rested flat against the pads. No vibration escapes. The whole frame rests in quiet balance.
