Night Light Drill

The porch lantern clicked on overhead, cutting right through the dusk and casting a sharp beam onto the front garden border. Down by the soil edge sat a low solar pathway stake, its frosted plastic dome glowing with a soft white ring. I sprinted down the final concrete step and took off toward it. Using the rounded rim as a vault point, I planted both palms, swung my cleats clear over the spiked cap, and stuck a low, springy landing right into the dry mulch. Even when the lights dim, the session doesn't stop.
