A Clue on the Rug
My yellow shoes marched straight across the parlor carpet after your curious question wouldn't let me rest. If a delicate porcelain shepherdess like Bo Peep was anywhere in Toyland, surely she would frequent the glass cabinet with the scalloped lace doilies! I hurried over, red purse swinging smartly on my arm. The glass was firmly latched, but right at the cabinet's wooden base, snagged on a stray carpet fringe, was a tiny tuft of clean white cotton batting. It looked just like a puff of sheep's wool! I carefully plucked it free, smoothed it between my white fingers, and stored it right alongside the curved ribbon in my purse. Not an introduction yet, sweetheart, but the trail is certainly warming up!
