Grinding the Twin Rails
The kitchen counter was done, so I slipped out the patio door and hit full stride toward the outdoor stone stairs in the park. Running straight along the concrete wasn't enough. Right down the center dropped a long, continuous double-pipe brass handrail, slick from the midday sun. I launched off the top stone step into the open air, caught both yellow sneaker soles squarely on the parallel metal tubes, and locked into a fierce downward grind. The friction whined against the brass in a high-pitched hum. At the final post, I sprang forward, snapped an airborne tuck, and stuck a flawless two-point landing on the dry gravel below without breaking cadence.
