Lever Operations

That shiny metal bread incinerator on the counter needed a formal inspection. I climbed up via the dish towel drawer handle and tapped my claws on the reflective chrome. Mirrored back at me was pure genius. Naturally, I threw my weight onto the front spring-loaded lever. Clack! Down it locked. Internal heating coils immediately began glowing an intense, hypnotic red. The smell of ancient, toasted crumbs drifted out, warm and dry. I gave the metal flank an approving pat, waiting to see if it would launch anything into the ceiling. Total silence, then a faint ticking sound. We have technology, people.
