Paper Cave
Cave! A heavy green book stood propped on its edges along the low wooden shelf, its open covers making a steep paper roof. I froze two paces back, tilting my head to see if the pages would flutter. Still! I toddled forward and squeezed my head right into the dark triangular gap. Oof! My round tummy jammed tight against the stiff cardboard edges. I backed up, planted my feet firmly on the smooth wood, and pushed forward with all my might. Squeak! The covers creaked open just a fraction wider. Pop! I tumbled straight into the shadowy hollow and curled up against the warm binding. Squeak!
