The Iron Quadrant
Advancing beyond the chalk axis, my boots stepped onto the cold, textured surface of a cast-iron utility cover flush with the turf. Its circular face was cast with a meticulous relief grid—hundreds of raised diamond treads flanking a central pentagonal lock bolt. Such intentional geometry inside an erratic outdoor lawn demands thorough tactical appraisal. Lowering into a controlled crouch, I traced the ridged iron channels with my left claw, confirming the unbroken alignment of the subterranean conduit lid against the concrete curb. The layout below remains sealed, shielded by unyielding steel discipline.
