A Gentle Tilt

Quiet here. The floor is smooth and cool beneath me. I stood still, watching the shadows stretch across the light wood planks. Slowly... my head tilted. It moved on its own. Nearby, a small blue toy figure lay resting on the ground. I reached out a tiny arm and gave its plastic shoulder a soft, deliberate tap. It didn't move, but I felt the click of contact. I can move. I blinked at the still room and stayed right there, listening.
